Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon about Nepotism In Industry
Lately, Kriti Sanon spoke at the 55th International Film Festival Of India(IFFI) in Goa as actor and producer of her recently released film ‘Do Patti’ and gave her opinion on Nepotism in the Industry. Speaking at the event, Kriti shared the challenges she faced as an outsider, and also mentioned that it takes time for those without a film background to establish themselves.
Kriti said “The Industry has welcomed me warmly since I arrived. But when you don’t come from a film family, it takes longer to reach your dreams. Whether its landing significant roles or even getting featured on a magazine cover, everything is a bit of a struggle. Still, if you work hard, nothing would stop you.”

According to Kriti, Nepotism in Bollywood cannot be completely blamed on the Industry alone. It is also because of the media and the audience. She added “The industry alone isn’t to blame for nepotism. Media coverage and audience demand. The Industry simply responds by casting them, knowing people will watch. It’s a cycle. But, at the end of the day, talent matters. If you lack talent or fail to connect with the audience, you won’t last”.
Kriti also expressed her desire to do more challenging roles like a superwoman or a character with dark shades. “Audiences today appreciate grey characters. They resonate with them, and the industry’s perception is changing. The mage gaze no longer demands a perfect woman in every story”.
Lately, Kriti posted a series of pictures in a stunning black dress from the IFFI event:
