Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the talented actors in Bollywood Industry and has been rumoured to back out from Border 2. The actor who loves to experiment with diverse film genres was reportedly in talks with the makers of this war drama sequel which is happening after 27 years since the release of Border in 1997.
Ayushmann Khurrana Opts Out From Border 2:
Border 2 cast consists Sunny Deol, Vinali Bhatnagar, Nitish Nirmal and directed by Anurag Singh. For the last few days, news made rounds that Ayushmann was in talks to play an important role in this film. Now, the actor has backed himself out from the project.
A source told Mid-day that “Ayushmann was in talks to play a soldier in the sequel. While both Ayushmann and the makers were keen on collaborating, the actor felt unsure of his positioning in an ensemble led by Sunny Deol, a towering star in his own right.”
It is also reported that Punjabi Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is part of the film. “Nothing is confirmed yet, But Diljit has been approached by the makers. It will be a treat to see Diljit and Sunny together on screen, given their strong audience base in north India.”
Border 2 was announced on June 13, 2024 and the release date was also confirmed as January 23, 2026. The film shooting is expected to start in Oct 2024.
Sunny Deol took to his Instagram handle and wrote “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2 🇮🇳”.

Border 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. Further cast and crew of the film is yet to be announced. However, it is one of the most awaited upcoming Bollywood films.
Border is a cult classic film and one of the best war films Bollywood has produced. Border was set during the period of the India-Pakistan war of 1971. It had Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles.
