The Filmmaker, Actor and Director Anurag Kashyap booked for the sexual assault
case by 30-year-old actor Payal Ghosh. The 46 year’s old filmmaker Anurag
Kashyap reached the Versova Mumbai police station on 1st October 2020 for the
questioning regarding the sexual assault claim by Payal Ghosh.
The accused Payal Ghosh during interaction with the media she said that “In
August 2013, the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap called her to his flat which is
located at Yari Road, Andheri, in Mumbai on the pretext of giving her work in
his movie. Kashyap then allegedly pushed Payal Ghosh into a sofa and kept his
hand on Payal’s mouth so that she couldn’t shout for help and sexually
molested her”.
In response to the complaint of Payal, police filed a case against Anurag
under the charges of rape, assault or criminal force to woman with intent to
outrage her modesty, wrongful restraint and wrongful confinement, on Woman.
Later, Anurag gave a statement and clearly denied all the allegation made on
him and even he said all these claims are baseless. I neither behave like this
nor do I ever tolerate this at any price, he added further. Anurag got the
support from the ex-wife Kalki Koechlin, Taapsee Pannu and other celebrities
too who worked with him.
