Nimrat Kaur is known for her amazing performances in movies like The Lunchbox, Dasvi and Airlift. Nimrat was born into a Sikh family in Pilani, Rajasthan. In 1994, her father Major Bhupender Singh, SC was kidnapped by Hizb-ul-Mujahideen ter*orists and has been k*lled after 6 days. He was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra. Today, on the occasion of her father’s Birth Anniversary, Nimrat inaugurated a war memorial and paid tribute to the brave soldier.

Taking to her Instagram handle, ‘Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video’ actress shared glimpses from the event and penned a heartfelt note. She wrote “On Papa’s 72nd Birth Anniversary today, Mama, my sister and I inaugurated a memorial in his name honouring not only his but 12 other gallant soldiers’ supreme sacrifice for the nation all hailing from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. A dream my family and I dreamt of 30 years ago since we lost him in Jammu and Kashmir in 1994, finally came true.
My sincerest gratitude for the relentless efforts and support from the civil administration in close co-ordination with the local army personnel stationed here. Papa was a son of the soil, born to a farmers’ family in Mohanpura village. He led, lived and died by example, fearless and fierce till his last breath. Words fail me today to express the pride I feel standing on this soil, in his birthplace witnessing immortalising his name and life story to inspire present day and future generations.

On the work front, Nimrat was last seen in Foundation, an American series. She also appeared in Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video, directed by Mikhil Musale. It also stars Radhika Madan, Bhagyashree, Subodh Bhave, and Chinmay Mandlekar in major roles. Her upcoming film ‘Section 84’ has completed the shooting part. It features Amitabh Bachchan, and Diana Penty apart from Nimrat. The film is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta.
