    Ranveer Singh about South films

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is the latest to share his opinion on the
on-going debate about the Bollywood-south cimema. Ranveer is all gearing up
for release of ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ on 13 May 2022. Now, the actor breaks his
silence and talks about the recent south films that acheived great success in
    the hindi belt.

In a recent conversation with Indiatoday, Ranveer Singh was asked if he would
be interested in doing a regional cinema. Ranveer answered ‘I am dying to do
an English film, which is my second language. I work predominantly in Hindi,
but I would love to do something in English. I cannot speak Tamil, Telugu or
Malayalam but I would love to.’. He further added that ‘I keep talking to my
peers and my colleagues, and I keep asking them how they work in different
languages. I did a movie with Pooja Hegde recently and I was trying to
    understand how to do it.’

We all know that Deepika Padukone is playing the female lead alongside
Prabhas. Ranveer said ‘Deepika Padukone right now is doing Nag Ashwin’s film
with Prabhas, which is in multiple languages. That is so exciting and I want
    to learn’.

Talking about the language debate that has started after the success of KGF
    Chapter 2, he said “I saw Pushpa, I don’t speak Telugu. I saw RRR, I don’t
speak the language – but I was in awe absolutely of these films and of the
craft. I can only say that I appreciate excellence in craft that the films
have showcased and I’m very proud of how wonderfully well they’re doing and
how they’ve been accepted by different kinds of audiences. It makes me very,
very proud because I’ve never looked upon such films as others. Yeh toh sab
apna hi hai, yaar, (they’re all our films, my friend); Indian cinema ek hai
    (Indian cinema is one)”.

Ranveer also spoke about the south stars which have great following in the
north too. I watched Dhanush, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Tarak (Jr NTR), Mahesh
Babu, and I am a great admirer of their craft. Its not them and us. I look at
it as one. He went on saying that his favourite filmmakers are the people who
    work in Chennai.

Earlier, at the time of release of RRR, director SS Rajamouli also said how he
considers Indian cinema as one. We all remember how Baahubali has created new
records and made Indian cinema proud. Celebrities from different languagues
and parts of the nation have showered praises on it. Ranveer recalled the
moment and said ‘I am very proud that a film like Baahubali breaks the
    barrier.’

There are many pan-India films currently in shooting stage and will be
released in multiple languages across the globe. Keeping all this aside, the
movie goers have always welcomed the films which has good content irrespective
of the language it is made and the makers or actors should remember to respect
the audeince’s time, money and intelligence.
