On Friday, Samantha shared a heartbreaking update on Instagram, revealing that her father has passed away. The actress wrote “Until we meet again, Dad 💔”.
Samantha’s Father Joseph Prabhu Passed Away
Samantha was born to Joseph and Ninette Prabhu in Chennai on 28th April 1987. Her father is a Telugu Anglo-Indian while her mother is a Syrian Malayali. Sam is the youngest of the family and she had two elder brothers.
Samantha rarely shares pictures of her family on her social media and she prefers to keep her personal life away from the limelight. However, during the promotions of her web series Citadel: Honey Bunny, Samantha opened up about her relation with her father and how it translated to her on-screen performance. She said “I think there are a lot of my real-life experiences in Honey. When I was narrated the role, it was almost freaky how much of my real life was in Honey. So, for my performance, I was drawing a lot from my life and my past experiences, my childhood. A lot of that has made it to my performance.”
She also added “Oh my god! Should I? Can I? Well, for starters, I had a particularly difficult relationship with my father. Honey also finds herself in tough situations, but she’s able to bounce back from them.”
In September, Samantha’s brother David got married in Wisconsin and the actress shared pictures on her Instagram account. On the other side, the reason for her father’s death is not known.
