The filmmaker and producer Karan Johar announced another directorial venture with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. On the 6th of July 2021, Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle to announce his upcoming film by revealing the Title's motion picture. By announcing the film, he wrote the caption "Yes, it's a love story, but no - it's not your regular love story. Rocky and Rani are going to redefine your usual love stories to take you on a journey! Meet the rest of the parivaar today at 2 pm!".
The film is titled 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. In this Ranveer Singh plays the role of Rocky while Alia Bhatt will be seen in the character of Rani. Karan Johar is going to direct the film and co-produce it in association with Viacom 18. The script is written by Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. Looking at the motion poster, it looks like the film has drama, romance, comedy, emotions and upbeat music. After a few years, Karan Johar returned to his director's chair for this entertainer.
Ranveer Kapoor also shared this news on his Instagram as he wrote "A special announcement on my special day! Presenting - Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani along with my dazzling supernova Alia Bhatt, directed by the genre himself, kaleidoscopic visionary Karan Johar, & written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy. Coming to charm you in 2022!". This birthday of the actor became special with the film announcement and he also received heartwarming birthday wishes from friends, fans and family members.
By sharing the poster Alia Bhatt wrote "An exceptional love story with my favourite people! ❤️✨ Presenting - Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, directed by the one and only Karan Johar and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy. All set to hit the screens in 2022!".
This is going to be another collaboration for Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh after The Gully Boy. As per the latest reports Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi to become part of this film. The film will hit cinemas in 2022.
